Description
Field of the Invention [0001] The present invention relates to a crampon and in particular, but not exclusively, to a crampon that can be used with a shoe such as a sports boot to facilitate grip while allowing freedom of movement. desired movement.
State of the art [0002] Spiked shoes are widely used in sports to facilitate snagging. For example, golfers wear cleated shoes to ensure the position of their feet on the ground when they swing their golf club. In addition, football and American football players use studded sports shoes to facilitate their snagging on the ground while playing; for example, to avoid slipping when the player suddenly changes direction.
[0003] Sports such as football and American football require a player to be able to move laterally and pivot quickly. The sports shoes with cleats currently used ensure a grounding such that the movement of the player is hampered. For example, most football or football boots have cuboid-shaped crampons; because of their shape, these crampons can prevent the player's foot from turning when the crampons are engaged in the ground. Since the player's foot can not pivot, this can result in injury if the player tries to spin quickly, such as cruciate ligament injuries.
[0004] Older crampon configurations include cone-shaped crampons. Although the conical-shaped crampons allow a player to pivot his foot, they offer only a slight catch, especially in comparison with the cuboid-shaped crampons.
An object of the present invention is to mitigate or avoid one or more of the aforementioned disadvantages.
BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION [0006] According to the invention, these objects are achieved by means of a crampon which is suitable for being fixed on a shoe, the crampon comprising a base element; fastening means extending from the base member, capable of securing the crampon to a shoe; and a crampon body having a tapered profile and wherein the crampon body is configured to include at least eight faces to optimize the ability to rotate and hook the crampon.
As the stud body has at least eight faces, the crampon is configured to have a shape located approximately between a conical shape and a cuboid shape. As a result, the crampon offers the advantages of a cone-shaped crampon and a cuboid-shaped crampon, allowing a user to pivot his foot when the crampon is engaged in the ground and also offering a good degree of snagging. .
The crampon's rotational capacity is the degree to which the crampon can pivot when engaged in the ground.
The rotational capacity of the ramp is proportional to the number of faces provided in the crampon body. Thus, to increase the rotational capacity of a crampon, the crampon body can be provided with a number of faces greater than eight. Similarly, a reduction in the number of faces provided in the crampon body will have the effect of reducing the rotational capacity and / or increase the gripping capacity of the crampon; thus, to reduce the rotational capacity and / or to increase the gripping ability of a crampon, the crampon body should be provided with a number of faces not greater than eight.
The crampon body may have a curved tapered profile.
Each of the at least eight faces may have a concave profile.
The crampon may comprise an intermediate section which is interposed between each of the at least eight faces.
Each of the intermediate sections may have a concave profile.
The crampon body may comprise a flat surface.
The spike body can be configured to taper toward the planar surface.
The flat surface may be square in shape with rounded corners.
The crampon may comprise a transition section located between one end of each of the at least eight faces and the flat surface.
The transition section may comprise at least eight faces.
The transition section may comprise a number of faces equal to the number of faces provided in the crampon body.
The transition section may comprise intermediate sections which are interposed between each of the faces of the transition section.
The transition section may have a curved profile.
The transition section may have a concave profile.
The spike body can extend from the base member.
The crampon may further comprise a platform of cuboid shape adapted to cooperate with a tool that can be used to help secure the crampon to a shoe.
The cuboid platform may be interposed between the spike body and the base member.
The fastening means may be a threaded member. It is understood that any means of attachment can be used.
At least a portion of the length of the threaded member may extend through at least a portion of the crampon body. At least a portion of the length of the threaded member may be integrated into the crampon body. This ensures that the threaded member cooperates more closely with the crampon body so that the stud body and the threaded member are less likely to be dissociated from each other.
The cross sectional area of the base member may be larger than the cross sectional area of the spike body, so that the spike is optimized to dampen shocks.
The crampon may comprise at least one of the following: PU (polyurethane), coloring agent, lubricating agent. The greasing agent can prepare the crampon to make the earth less likely to adhere to the crampon. The polyurethane can prepare the crampon to make the earth less likely to adhere to the crampon.
According to another aspect of the present invention, a kit is provided comprising a plurality of studs according to any of the above-mentioned studs.
The colors of at least some of the crampons in the kit may differ.
The kit may further include a tool that can help to attach a crampon to a shoe.
According to another aspect of the present invention, a shoe is provided comprising one or more of the aforementioned studs.
Some or all of the crampons with which the shoe is provided may vary in terms of color.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE FIGURES The invention will be better understood with the aid of the description of an embodiment, given by way of example only, and illustrated by the figures, in which:
Fig. 1 shows a perspective view of a stud according to the present invention;
Fig. 2 is a side view of the crampon shown in FIG. 1;
Fig. 3 shows a plan view of the crampon illustrated in FIG. 1.
Detailed Description of Possible Embodiments of the Invention [0036] Referring to FIGS. 1-3 which show a crampon 1 according to the present invention, FIG. 1 shows a perspective view of the crampon 1; fig. 2 is a side view of the crampon 1; and FIG. 3 provides a plan view of the crampon 1.
The crampon 1 is adapted to be attached to a shoe, for example a sports shoe such as a football shoe. The crampon 1 comprises a base element 3; fastening means, in the form of a threaded member 5; and a crampon body 7.
The base element 3 comprises a sectional area which is larger than the cross sectional area of the crampon body 7, so that the crampon 1 is optimized to dampen shocks.
The threaded member 5 is adapted to fix the crampon 1 to the sports shoe, such as a football shoe. The threaded member 5 extends from the inside of the crampon body 7 beyond the base member 3. Thus, at least a portion of the length of the threaded member 5 can be integrated into the crampon body 7; this makes it possible to ensure that the spike body 7 is less likely to be dissociated from and the threaded member 5.
The crampon body 7 extends from the base member 3. The crampon body 7 is configured to include eight faces 9: four wide faces and four smaller faces. Each of the eight faces 9 has a concave profile which gives the crampon body 7 a curved tapered profile. The concavity of each of the faces is preferably provided in at least one horizontal section in a plane parallel to the base element 3. The concavity is also provided in a vertical section at any plane parallel to the threaded member 5.
To the extent that the crampon body 7 has at least eight faces, the crampon is configured to have a shape located approximately between a conical shape and a cuboid shape; therefore, the crampon 1 offers the

advantages of both a cone-shaped crampon and a cuboid-shaped crampon, allowing a user to pivot his foot when the crampon is engaged in the ground and also offering a good level of attachment. The crampon body 7 may comprise an intermediate section which is interposed between each of the at least eight faces 9. Thus, eight intermediate sections 11 are provided. The crampon body 7 further comprises a flat surface 13. The crampon body 7 is configured to tap towards the flat surface 13. The flat surface 13 is square in shape with rounded corners 25. [ 0044] In addition, the spike body 7 comprises a transition section 15 located between one end 17 of each of the at least eight faces 9 and the flat surface 13. The transition section comprises eight faces 19 so that the number of faces 19 in the transition section is equal to the number of faces 9 provided in the crampon body 7. The transition section 15 also comprises intermediate sections which are interposed between each of the at least eight faces 19 of the transition section 15. Thus , the number of intermediate sections 21 in the transition section is equal to the number of intermediate sections 11 provided in the crampon body 7. The transition section 15 is shown to have a curved profile, more specifically a concave profile. In addition, the crampon 1 further comprises a platform of cuboid shape 23. The cuboid platform 23 is interposed between the crampon body 7 and the base member 3. The cuboid platform 23 is adapted to cooperate with a tool that can be used to help secure the crampon 1 to a shoe. The crampon 1 comprises PU (polyurethane) and a coloring agent. Polyurethane has proved advantageous since the soil or sludge is less likely to adhere to the crampon 1. Self-lubricating materials, such as a material comprising a lubricating agent, may also be used to further enhance this property. Since soil and mud are less likely to adhere to the crampon 1, the hooking provided by the crampon 1 during use is less likely to be compromised by the accumulation of dirt or mud on the surface of the crampon 1. In addition, the accumulation of dirt and mud between a plurality of studs 1 provided on a sports shoe is less likely, and the hooking provided by a sports shoe with studs 1 is less likely to be compromised by the accumulation of dirt or mud between the crampons 1. A plurality of studs illustrated in FIGS. 1, 2 and 3 can be sold as part of a kit; for example, twelve or sixteen crampons 1 can be sold in a package. These crampons 1 can be used with a sports shoe such as a football shoe. Some or all of the plurality of crampons 1 may have different colors; thus, when the crampons 1 are used on a sports shoe, they will improve the aesthetics of the sports shoe and, more practically, will allow a user to customize the sports shoe; for example, a football player can customize his football boots by selecting a particular combination of colored studs. The kit may also include a tool having a part capable of engaging the cuboid platform 23 in each of the crampons 1. The tool can help a user to rotate the crampon 1 with force so that the threaded member 5 is screwed into a portion of the shoe to attach the crampon 1 to the shoe. Various modifications and variations of the embodiments described will be obvious to those skilled in the art without departing from the scope of the invention as defined in the appended claims. Although the invention has been described in connection with specific preferred embodiments, it will be understood that the invention as claimed will not be unduly limited to such an embodiment. claims
